Entreprenuer Tom Nordloh owned a landscaping company and needed a way to reduce the cost of installing of erosion control blankets. Building on his idea, CDN designed a tractor-mounted machine that loads, unrolls, and staples the blanket to the ground with a substantial labor savings over manual installation. Following the design work, CDN built and tested the first three production units.

Grinder-polishers are used in metallurgical sciences to prepare material samples for analysis. The samples require microscopically smooth surfaces and therefor require a machine with little or no vibration. As part of a large redesign effort of the entire unit, CDN replaced a multiple-component housing and a belt-driven motor with a right-angle gearbox mounted directly to an aluminum casting–vibration gone!
